Hello everyone !
I have a problem with some pdf.
When the text is in a picture it's totally destroy. For example this publication was scanned from a book because it's quite old. here is the file : http://www4.hcmut.edu.vn/~hthoang/dktm/ ... igence.pdf
And for me this is the result :

The problem appears in my internship report : the label on matlab plots are just some black things. But I printed this report and everything was perfect.
This afternoon I was reading the file above at the university (windows vista and adobe reader) and that was a very good quality.
I tried a new reader but that didn't solve the problem.
I miss something or ...
Can you help me ?
Thank you very much !
Emmanuel

Re: problem with pdf
I'm not sure what it is that you are asking. Both look the same to me.
Re: problem with pdf
Look at the quality of the pdf file with windows : http://imagik.fr/view-rl/194437

Ok ! Thanks !
First I haven't found Foxit reader in the package ! I have a tar.gz file but I don't know how to compile it.
But I installed Acrobat reader for linux (that's strange, insn't it ?) and it worked. The pdf file is now in a very good quality !
Now I have 2 questions : why is it working with acrobat but not with evince ?
And how to compile Foxit reader for a x64 architecture ?

Re: problem with pdf
Did you look in the Software Manager or the Package Manager?
Typing foxit in the Package Manager finds it for me...

Re: problem with pdf
I have the same problem with some PDFs (those containing scans). Downloaded Foxit from their homepage and it looks much better there. Haven't been able to pin down the source of this error, but it would of course be nice if this was somehow solved in Mint. Does anyone know if there's a reported bug for this? Maybe there's a newer version of something where this is fixed..
