Linux Mint host, Windows 7 guest

Hi guys....
I've successfully created/imported my existing windows XP64 partition into VMWare (using the vmware converter).
I now need to create/import my existing Windows 7 partition into VMWare. Has anyone successfully done that?
The converter keeps coughing up a hairball when creating a "VSS" (the hard drive snapshot).

Google hasn't been much help, so I thought I'd see if anyone here has been down that route. I hate dual/tripple boot especially when I know Linux (and my hardware) can handle the vm load.

Thanks for any info.

What brought me to Debian was one-stop shopping.
What brought me to SID was apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade.
