SOLVED Free disk space erasure

Postby David Hunter on Tue Jan 19, 2010 8:27 pm

Hi all,

Under Mint 7, I used bcwipe to securely erase free disk space, but now under Mint 8 I find that bcwipe isn't in the package manager. There are two alternatives, secure-delete (which doesn't install properly and seems to be useless) and wipe (which doesn't wipe free space) - both are unsuitable.

Does anyone know of a good program to use?

Cheers,

Dave.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.
