There is but it's not activated by default because it's not 100% stable. In the preferences of mintMenu, plugins_list you can add "recent" and reload the mintMenu plugins. This should add the recent plugin to it.

This is what I get:

Cannot load "Recent" plugin:
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "/usr/lib/linuxmint/mintMenu/mintMenu_frontend.py", line 142, in PopulatePlugins
MyPlugin = X.pluginclass( self, self.toggle )

TypeError: __init__() takes exactly 2 arguments (3 given)

...Was this option discontinued?

Just press Alt, F1 and go to Places in the drop down menu.

Thanks, I'll try and keep in mind this shortcut... infact, I don't need a "recent" menu that often.
I was just wondering if the plugin worked or not.
