Hi there. After crashing my edition of Windows XP I decided to install Mint Linux. I bought Sims 3 because my laptop had all the right hardware, and I just wasn't sure about the Linux. On trying to install the game through Play On Linux I got all the way to the start page when the game didn't read the CD drive. Any help would be appreciated because the only reason I bought the game was to make sure it worked fine.

Looks like it works with the latest versions of Wine (1.01 is already installed in Mint 8, 1.1.31 is available in the Package Manager and is reported to work), the latest (beta) version have instructions right on the download page, and remember that Mint 8 = Karmic .
