Hi,
How can I install Skype on Linux Mint 8?
When I try this from Software Manager, nothing happens...
Cheers.

Re: Skype installation
Try running
post any output if there's an error.
Code: Select all

Re: Skype installation
Be sire to delete (or rename) any .Skype folder in your home folder before attempting a re-install to get rid of any old errors.
if that dosen't work you can try:
http://download.skype.com/linux/skype-u ... 1_i386.deb
if that dosen't work you can try:

Re: Skype installation
Skype is no longer available in the repo for Linux Mint 8, it came to a surprise to me as well.RedWagon wrote:Try runningpost any output if there's an error.Code: Select all

metamorphousthe's method will work with the .deb.
Re: Skype installation
Thanks; that worked.
I'm trying to use it with a Bluetooth headset, but it doesn't seem to work.
In Skype, the headset is not available to select in Options > Sound Devices.
I've paired the headset correctly, so I can't see any problem.
Any suggestions?
