software suggestion ?

Post by scottjge »

I just got a Ten Tec Argonaut V that can be connected to a computer serial port for control. Everything that I can find on the web for software runs on a windows machine. I was wondering if anyone knows of any GUI software for radio control that runs on Linux? I have goggled but have only found windows software.

Any ideas or suggestion ?

Thanks,
Glenn

I think some of these types of devices are supported but it is probably a very short list.

Ya, I know. that seems to be my luck. I finally got a OS that acts the way that it is suppose to and one that I love and then all my equipment doesn't work. I like to program AVR chips for a hobby and do Amateur Radio. I am finding it very hard to interface with the rest of the Hams at times because most use Windows.
I will keep looking and trying but I don't think that I will find much.

Thanks for your reply,
Glenn

You must mean in radio talk, since the equipment being used, is only part of the discussion

Doc, where do you find all this stuff? I have looked and looked and never come up with any of the links you come up with. I was goggling for control software for Amateur Radio's. I guess I had better take a course on searching criteria for goggle.

I want to thank you a million, again ! You save the day for me. I have to go do a lot of reading and learning now. Again, thank you for taking the time to help me out yet again, I sure do appreciate it.

Many thanks.
