wondering how does one auto resize the pictures when sending via email?
im after something like in windows where you right click the images, select send to, then a resize dialog window opens asking you to make pictures smaller or keep original size, then it automatically makes then smaller (reducing the size say from 2MB to 69kb), then self attaches to email ready to send (rather simple and efficient to get work done.....
i havnt found something as simple and straight forward in linux to download and try, could someone advise appropriate SIMPLE app that does this.
ive tried gimp but its like using a car crusher to crush a small thin tin can...not what im after....
F-Spot (just not useful at all imho)

I've never found an auto-resizer,but I find gThumb easily resizes images.
It is also good for changing image file formats.
It is in Synaptic Package Manager.
Hopefully someone else will post with details if there is a better option.

Re: how to resize pictures for emails - simple way
I have no problems with gimp.
I open the image then go to Image - Scale Image and select the size I want it, normally for emailing about 1000 pixels.
Type that in and it will adjust the lower value automatically assuming the values are locked.
Then click Scale, and then save the image as a .jpg wherever you want it to be on your system.
It sounds more complicated than it really is to do.
Kevin.

I use "nautilus-image-converter".
You`ll find it in package manager. Adds image resize to right click menu. Does single and batch resizing.
