pulseaudio broken 10pkgs kept back on upgrade

Postby bootdoc on Tue May 18, 2010 10:27 am

I have no sound and pulse audio device chooser shows no application playing when amarok or rhythmbox IS playing. I do however get the system startup jingle. I did apt-get upgrade and it shows all pulse pkgs kept back. I try with update manager and it gives back "fix broken packages first". Then open synaptic and check the broken pkgs filter, there are no broken packages! (it would be nice to have the full synaptic the mint version is crap). I have seen this problem (fix broken packages first) before and ususally apt-get upgrade works. the update manager is for sure broken. I have done --fix-missing and -f in terminal. any other suggestions??
