What is replacement of LaTeX for LinuxMint KDE?

I need to write LaTeX document for my subject's assignment and I'm using LinuxMint KDE, for GNOME, I found tetex, I also found kile for KDE, but it's just a frontend, so can anyone tell me what should I install if I want to use latex on KDE?

The ex-maintainer of tetex recommends texlive: http://www.tug.org/tetex/.
I am using texlive with satisfaction with both Kile and LyX as frontends.
I installed texlive first and then Kile, but adept-manager then marked texlive for removal and tetex for installation. The dependencies associated with Kile require one of tetex or texlive. To choose texlive here requires deselecting tetex and selecting texlive again
