Software and Application ... Help Forums

Post by vrkalak »

I see posts about problems that members are having with this or that Application or Program, all the time.

While there are members of this Forum, that use and know something about each Application ... the OS Devs and the Mint Team really have no say or input into how an Application and/or Open Source software works.

Almost every major Application or Browser or Software Project in GNU/Linux, BSD and Open Source has a Help Forum set-up to help the people that use each particular program or project.
Certainly, every Linux OS Distribution has a Help Forum set up for their distro. Well, so does everything else Open Source ... usually, have a Forum, a Wiki page and a FAQ page.

I know that the Forum Moderators and regular Members of this Forum stress the importance of searching and trying to find the answers yourself, before asking in the Forum.
And remembering that Google (or any search engine) is your friend.

But ... most people fail to think of looking for a Help Forum for a particular Linux or Open Source Application.
The various Help Forums have some very knowledgeable people and are usually a wealth of information about their project.

I would like to make this thread a place where Mint Members can post a link to some of the various Application/Software/Project Help Forums they have found and used.

I will add more stuff and links as I find them ... please, do the same. I believe, these links would be helpful to new Linux users.
Just spend a few minutes searching and becoming familiar with the various Apps and Projects in Linux and Open Source ... you might even learn something along the way.

With Google, there seems to be a Forum for each different App. in Google's Menu ... you'd have to do a search them yourself. :? There are toooo many.

AND ... Google, also, has a separate Search Engine specifically for Linux >>>> http://google.com/linux/
