Update Error .. Please help a NooB

I have the following error.. when I try to update the Linux Mint 9 GNOME....
Just moved from UBUNTU to LM where I had the same issue.

Please help...

GPG error: http://security.ubuntu.com lucid-security Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <ftpmaster@ubuntu.com>Failed to fetch http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/dis ... ckages.bz2 Hash Sum mismatch
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I am really new to the Linux thing and my way of dealing with Linux issues is Google copy and paste.....
PLease help.

I did try to link you mentioned... I guess it did solve half the issue since only half of the error is popping up.
The error goes like this....
Any help on this....
