Anyone ever heard of a disk-imaging tool called Daemon-Tools?
I used to use it on Windows to back-up all my disks into compressed .mdx files (Media Descriptor Extended) or something like that...
Is there a linux version of this software which supports handling of these files?
Software imager that uses .mdx files?

From my very limited search it looks like .mdx in this context is a format unique to Daemon-Tools. I'm not sure if you're going to be able to open it in anything but Daemon-Tools. You probably should have just ripped your discs to .iso, but I'm guessing you already figured that out. I think you have 2 choices. 1. re-rip all you media. Or 2. Open Daemon Tool in Windows and see if you can convert .mdx to .iso.

Yeah, I looked around and I couldn't really find anything :/ I appreciate you trying to help.. Too bad I don't have Windows installed anymore lol.. I'm going to have to re-rip.. Any suggestions on software/format to use? I liked MDX because my comp is low on disk space...

With some tweaking I can get HandBrake http://handbrake.fr/ to rip a 1GB file that's to me indistinguishable from the DVD.alexv305 wrote:Yeah, I looked around and I couldn't really find anything :/ I appreciate you trying to help..
