The default repositories for Linux Mint doesn't have the latest package.
I use the a repository from Ubuntu 7.04.
Attention: there is a problem with OpenOffice: first you have to uninstall the Open Office which is installed with Linux Mint (I have the same problem with Ubuntu 7.04). Then you can install the latest packages (until the default repositories for Linux Mint will be updated):
These are the steps:
1) use Synaptic Package Manager to uninstall the current components of OpenOffice
2) in Synaptic -> Settings -> Repositories -> Third Party -> Add: deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ feisty main restricted
3) click Close
4) If you will have problem with broken errors use: Edit->Fix broken packages
5) click Reload
6) you can select the components for OpenOffice 2.1-1ubuntu1
6') you can update other programs too (e.g. Firefox)
I don't recomand to update entire system !!!
Deactivate(unmark) the repository when you finish.
I hope the default repositories of Linux Mint will be updated.
