Is there a particular reason why the portal is so slow? Is it bandwidth limited? Where is it located?

The linuxmint.com sites can be bogged down occasionally but download goes from other sites but some in the same location.
It's only the mint file (about 50 kB max) that's downloaded from us - the rest comes from other sources, so I think it's an internet problem
Linuxmint's servers are in Germany

Thanks Husse. Are the apps that are on the portal, the same apps that Automatix installs for Ubuntu?

We select the apps often by advice from users, so it could happen but it is a thing of its own
