Pidgin conversation windows don't pop up

When someone sends me a message in pidgin, I would prefer the chat window to pop up so that I notice it. Currently the window only flashes, but does not pop up in front of the other windows.

I have the 'Message notifications' plugin enabled, with the following options ticked:
+Notify for IM windows
+Set window manager URGENT hint (this woks, the window flashes on the taskbar)
+Raise conversation window (this doesn't seem to do anything)
+Present conversation window (this also doesn't seem to do anything)

Any ideas? I vaguely remember having this problem in ubuntu, but then I just installed this plugin and everything worked. Now the plugin is installed in mint, but nothing works, and I keep missing chats because I don't notice the window flashing when i have so many open.

Actually you done all settings ok but why it is not popup thats I dont know but try to reinstall your massager and plug ins. than try I this step helps you to solve yore problem.
