Firefox google home page annoyance...{Solved}

Hi just started using Linux Mint.

Minor annoyance that only seems to happen with mint. Google is defaulted to Africans language, very annoying. I change it in the setting but it changes back. Whats going on?

did you remember what language you chosen when you are installing your linux mint?

Isn't "African" the first option on the languages list? I suspect you might've looked over that step during the install process and just hit enter. ^^: Just a hunch.

anyway as for the solution just click the mint menu. type language in the search box then change the language from african to your native language ex. english

Is it only Firefox in Google? That's odd, unless you are in Africa. I'm in the Philippines, and Google home page will default to Filipino if I block cookies or keep the NoScript add-on enabled in the page. Happens in Windows too.

What is the preferred language set in Firefox? Edit>Preferences>Content> Languages. Set it to English if it is not.

Only in firefox and only google and the language was set to British English for the whole of Mint during the install.

Anyway an update. It seems that google was effected by the settings in firefox which were set wrong for some reason, I assumed these would have been set when I set the language during the install.

Now all I need to do is figure out why dropbox refuses to work with MInt.
