Re: desklets/ widgets/ gadgets
I have run gdesklets and some are okay, but getting them to run can be a bother.
So, I run ggl-gtk now (Google Gadgets) and it's very nice.

another neat option you can do is ruin it with ggl-gtk -ns then it launches with out the sidebar and the gadgets are 'detached'kpearsonxyz wrote:I have run gdesklets and some are okay, but getting them to run can be a bother.

I have mine start with sleep 10 && ggl-gtk -ns on start up.

Or, you can click on the ggl-gtk Icon in the systray and turn off the sidebar, after detaching each gadget from the sidebar, then it will remember that setting and you don't have to start it that way, but whatever works, eh?

Synaptic: google
then scroll down the found items for ggl-gtk, or google gadgets.
It's very simple. Do a bit of research and you'll be able to solve this type of question yourself. Also, you could just Google: google gadgets
