Hi Clem -- Hi @ all !
Since yesterday, the Mint-Server seems down "or sick".
Many updates are not "available" and could not been downloaded.
There are many Mint-Users in german Forums, who are telling about this problems.
The are "Mistake 111-Disconnected"-Errors.
Do you know about?
Thx for your answer.
Regards from Germany.

Re: Mint-Server down for updates?
Heh, I tried to install something on removed tonight and got this error:
Someone school me if I shouldn't have put that in a "code" box.
Anyway, I thought it was just the get deb site or something I wasn't doing correctly.
Now I realize that I can't even get to packages.linuxmint.com in a browser. Site returns a ping though.
Whew, I'm just glad it's not me!

Appears that it's just the one "main server" that errors out. Changed to the server in France and it works for me also.

Re: Mint-Server down for updates?
Hi there.
Same over here. Got some more grey hairs since last night.
I also tried "search best server". That one failed to. I tried France - failed.
Would be nice to see somebody from the Mint team commenting on this disaster.
Cheers

Re: Mint-Server down for updates?
It seems people are opening various threads on different forums about update issues and getting the standard response, "switch your mirrors".
I made a post at http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 96#p344896 explaining the details on my end and why switching mirrors has NOT solved the issue.
Hope this notice might speed up the solution and / or workaround for the issue.
Cheers

Re: Mint-Server down for updates?
Just posted via Twitter: We had a little bit of downtime on the main repositories. All is fine again. Apologies for the inconvenience.
