Hi all,
i installed eclipse for PHP on my Linux Mint 10 computer and I would like it to appear in the software manager and the main menu.
I didn't find anything helpful on how to add software to the software manager that was installed separately, so I ask for support here

Re: Adding software to software manager
Hi,
To add softwares to software manager, you need to add external repositories.
for example - https://launchpad.net/~eclipse-team/+archive/ppa

But I already installed eclipse to /opt/eclipse, so I want to add eclipse as "installed" to the software manager. If I just add the repository it still lists eclipse as "uninstalled".
Re: Adding software to software manager
I don't know eclipse app but how did u install it?
I mean that I'd create any launcher for uninstall if any more info is mentioned in the (?) install archive or page manual...

Re: Adding software to software manager
I installed eclipse by downloading the .tar.gz archive from the eclipse homepage (eclipse.org) and simply unpacking it to /opt.
I already found a way to add a starter to the gnome menu, but I would appreciate if it would also appear in the software-/package-manager to keep an overview of all installed programs.
