Hey Guy,
Seems a bit odd this, any of the videos hosted on the Vimeo website just won't play in either Firefox or Chromium. I get a picture and sometimes the play button, if i click play nothing happens.
anyone any experience with this?

Well, I can confirm something odd is going on. I get pictures, but no play buttons. I am using Shockwave Flash 10.3 d162 - the 64-bit version.
Current hardware: a Dell OptiPlex 3010 desktop, a Dell Inspiron 531 desktop, and a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.
Current OS: LMDE 3

Re: Videos from Vimeo aren't playing
1) Right click on video
2) Select "Turn HD Off"
3) Problem Fixed

That doesn't work, HD is already off.

Re: Videos from Vimeo aren't playing
Since I am usually running the most recent versions of flash, and especially the 64-bit ones, this stuff happens. Most of the time, after a few weeks or months, the websites catch up the new flash versions.
In the meantime, you may wish to check out a Firefox/Iceweasel add-on called Video DownloadHelper. I use that one more than I thought. I click on the Video DownloadHelper icon, and can choose to download the video as it is, or I can convert it into another format. Once downloaded, I play it in Totem. No problems.

Re: Videos from Vimeo aren't playing

EDIT.
Sorry yes it is installed.

Re: Videos from Vimeo aren't playing
I'm guessing either flash like Riven said or related to 64-bit OS. This thread from a couple of years ago had similar issues with those who used a 64-bit OS: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=674268
Also this post from a couple of hours ago from a Vimeo forum talks about it being an issue with flash. http://vimeo.com/forums/topic:34280#comment_4517505 and also here http://vimeo.com/forums/topic:34227#comment_4513740 <- This one explains which version of flash to have installed.

Re: [Solved] Videos from Vimeo aren't playing
OK I've managed to fix it.
Open the packet manager and search for flash, found 2 plugins listed:
adobe flash plugin 10.2.152.27
And
mint flash plugin 10.2.161.23
the Adobe one wasn't installed so I uninstalled the mint one and install the Adobe version.
video is now back working in Chromium and Firefox.
Thanks for the help guys.
