Awhile back I had a program which I got from synaptic that will convert photos to cartoon images. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of it.
Anybody know the name of this program??

Well I don't, but I am sure Synaptic does.
Search photo, cartoon, image manipulation, etc etc?
It is not imagemagick is it, that is a pretty cool program with a lot of abilities.

Gimp has a number of plugins: http://registry.gimp.org/search/node/cartoon
You can check if one is already installed: Filters -> Artistic -> Cartoon

There is one in the repo called fotoxx. I don't think it is the one you remember, its been around for maybe 2 years, in the repo less than that.

As mentioned earlier, probably gimp is your best bet, for more choice use the g'mic plugin, Go to the download page select the appropriate 32/64 bit .deb and gdebi will pop it into gimp filters.

Actually ktoon will work but it was not the software I was looking for. For that matter Gimp will also work but I really liked the program I was looking for.. I suspect it no longer exists since I have not been able to find it after 2 weeks of searching..
