Firefox 4 - menus disappear

Post by vinoman »

Just installed Firefox 4 on Mint 10 64 bit yesterday.

After a while of use the drop down menus for bookmarks and the Firefox button in the upper left hand corner will disappear as soon as you try to mouse over anything. I have to close out Firefox and restart it, then the menus work for a while and then they disappear again. Is this a bug?

try this:

I had a similar issue in the past also, but all I had to do was change Gnome themes, and it started behaving correctly.
I believe all I did was switch themes to another and back to the default a couple of times. I like to stick with defaults. :)

Thanks. Now for some reason the menus are working now.

I've turned off some plugins and it would be fine for a while and then the menu would disappear again. I also added a persona, which looks nice but didn't change anything. But if I just minimize and then reopen the browser the works again for a while. Otherwise Firefox 4 is faster and I like it anyway. Maybe the next upgrade will fix the problem.
