Postby Tony B on Thu Nov 22, 2007 10:06 pm

I love Rainlander calendar, I am from win xp I deleted it and install Mint 4 I am now home
I have tried to install rainlandar calendar but it just will not install and yes I did use the Linux version.
I follow the Linux install Direction to the letter but it will not work.
Rainlandar calendar would be great in the software portal
Can some one help me with the install?
Thanks Tony

HI

Can you tell us what happens during installation?
What problems there are, and any error messages you get

I made manually new empty file with name '/home/tony/.config/.rainlendar2/rainlendar2.ini'.
For me that helped for that error message. Be sure to write the name exactly right, not "rainlandar"

EDIT: Starts, but crashes, if I try to do something. :(

I manually made a new empty file with name '/home/tony/.config/.rainlendar2/rainlendar2.ini'.
now i only get one error

Unable to create configuration file:

/home/tony/.config/.rainlendar2/rainlendar2.ini

Make sure that the folder has write permission
.

I did give it write permissions.

I made an empty file and renamed it without opening and ranlendar accepted that.
Rainlendar seems to be not compatible with Mint 4.0, it crashes every time with lots of errors.
I now installed again Mint 3.1 (for other reasons) and there it seems to work.

Thanks a lot. I like Mint 4.0 but I need rainlandar calendar. I will be moving to 3.1 also for now and install rainlandar calendar in it.

Thanks again for all the help :D
Even with Mint 3.1 I am a happy camper.
