Hi,
I used a number of windows ftp servers (filezilla server, caesarFTP, etc) - all being very nice, feature rich, stable and with a GUI.
I kind of expected that linux ftp servers would be even better (excluding GUI), just like other core internet services Linux is famous for (www, dns, etc.)
To my surprise all ftp servers I have tried so far are horrible to say the least.
proftpd - has a some kind of ssl bug and fails to list home dir after login
vsftpd - has terrible virtual user management, and very poor documentation so I had difficulty in configuring the features I need
pure-ftpd - doesn't even work with a single user and a plaintext password login despite (or because of) using PureAdmin gui to configure it
Does anyone know any linux ftp server that works? It will serve <10 users and should support virtual users and ssl/tls.
(Using LM9 64-bit, all software above is from default repos).
