Have her look at a few choices and try them out, then decide..

There are a few collection manager programs, either as a general collection organizer (Database) or specifically for comics..
  • Comic book readers, drawing programs, which usually also include dopwnloadable selections and management of same..

I think some of the java based software is usually pretty good, in the features they can provide
--such as jedit or others in the comic book reader realm..

  • Jomic
Jomic is a viewer for comic books stored in CBZ, CBR, and PDF files. The software features include a two page mode, caching and support for several image formats (PNG, JFIF/JPEG, TIFF, and GIF).

Also, a decent collections manager to check out is GCstar. It is in the repositories for easy installation. Their home site is http://www.gcstar.org/ .
Current hardware: a Dell OptiPlex 3010 desktop, a Dell Inspiron 531 desktop, and a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.
Current OS: LMDE 3

Gnome Comics Organiser (GCO) is in the repos.

GCO is a database for keeping track of your comics collection. It supports
titles, publishers, types, writers, pencilers, inkers, cover prices, current
prices, comments, and much more. It also allows you to sort the list in
various ways.
