Hi, newb question for you, whenever I run the updater for mint 10 I get the following error msg;
Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/gdm2setup/gdm2 ... Sources.gz 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/gdm2setup/gdm2 ... ackages.gz 404 Not Found
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
I have removed gdm2setup, as it didn't work with my distro, how do I stop the updater trying update it?
Is there something I should be doing manually to keep the update list up to date or is that usually updated automatically by the updater?

Re: How to remove uninstalled app from update list?
Edit out or comment out (usually the # character) the selection (this would be the ppa/..) in
/etc/apt/sources.list
--you can use gksu leafpad (in the GUI under run in menus..) or whichever editor you normally choose
that selection ppa/.. should no longer be selected for updates..
/etc/apt/sources.list
--you can use gksu leafpad (in the GUI under run in menus..) or whichever editor you normally choose
- You need root/admin access in order to edit the system file /etc/apt/sources.list
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
