synaptics error

Hi All,

I am new to Linux Mint 4.0 ...

I got this error right after installing ms true fonts ... and when trying to run synaptic package manager ...

msg :

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

plz help ...

Something happened during installation or some other dpkg process, and it didn't finish what it was doing. Run the "sudo dpkg --configure -a" in a terminal window to reset what ever went wrong. Then it should resume as normal.

Hi,

I copied and pasted the command you posted ...

then it asks for the sudo password ... I tried to enter my password but it doesn't type at all ...

plz help ...

The password is invisible while it is being typed. Rerun the command, type your password, and just hit enter.

it worked and still resolving ....

plz do n't leave me ... I might need u after the terminal finishes ... in the mean time ... can u tell me what the command means ..?
