Lamp ?

I do have Lamp working, but I tried to get Apache UserDir Working. I used this web page as a reference:

It points to the write directory, but it says I don't have permission to access the directory.

Any ideas as to what I need to do?

You're supposed to upload files to that directory via an FTP client. That way it will change to the correct owner / group for you. You can copy them as root to that folder but you'll have to chown them to www-data afterwards if you do it that way.

So then I should config an ftp server too.

This may be a stupid question, but how do I set up an ftp user who has rights to that specific directory and won't mess up apache's rights?
