Hi
A lot of programs crash with segfaults. The system is at the newest update level. Eg after a call of Synaptic from the mint menu I get the message:
Oct 9 10:26:52 anja-desktop kernel: [ 1063.593230] gksu[24265]: segfault at 616c2f65 ip 001acc4c sp bf9cf3e0 error 4 in libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.2000.1[148000+93000] Oct 9 10:27:09 anja-desktop kernel: [ 1081.006430] gksu[24267]: segfault at 616c2f65 ip 00174c4c sp bfc10650 error 4 in libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0.2000.1[110000+93000]
When I call any of these crashing programs from the mint menu, then I get these segmentation faults. When I call the same programs from terminal, then all is running fine without errors.
How can I fix it?
Regards Svgt

Re: Mint9 Gnome 32bit - Programs crash with segfaults
The solution is: new installation of mintmenu with synaptic. It runs fine in a 2GB Ram 3Ghz system.
Finally it was no solution: Later there happened the same segfaults.
I changed the Mint9 hdd drive into another computer with 512MB Ram and 2GHz. There was the same situation: I could not call a lot of programs from the mintmenu and got the segfault.
Problem with amount of memory or number of started programs?
