A replcement for Eudora

Hello,
I've been using Mint on one of my machines for some time now. I like it and I am considering putting it on my main machine, replacing windows. The only thing I am concerned about, is my Email application. I am currently using Eudora 7.0.1.0 paid version, along with a nifty utility called HotMailPopper. This allows me to use Eudora to download my email from all of my accounts and filter them into the appropriate mailboxes. I am searching for a Linux alternative to Eudora, something that will migrate my account settings and mailboxes. I read up on Eudora and found that they released the program code to open source and will not be developing a Linux version of the program. I did see that work is being done to add a eudora type extension to Thunderbird, something called Penelope, but it appears to be for Windows and Mac OS's. Any suggestions on other programs that would make the change over less painful?
Thank you
