[Solved]Blueman install problem LM 11 Katya

Post by Arcosanti »

My understanding is that blue man is supposed to uninstall the default bluetooth manager and install itself in it's place. When I do sudo apt-get install blueman it does a partial install and then aborts installation with the following error:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
totem-plugins totem-common totem-xine totem totem-mozilla
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 reinstalled, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
After this operation, 0 B of additional disk space will be used.
Setting up blueman (1.21-4.1build1) ...
reload: Unknown instance:
invoke-rc.d: initscript dbus, action "reload" failed.
dpkg: error processing blueman (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
blueman
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Anyone know how to fix this?

I found a solution to the problem. While working on something else in the App Startup under the control center, I unchecked the bluetooth manager and then did a reboot. Blueman was able to install after that since the default bluetooth manager was not running.
