When i enable the secondary monitor on my laptop (Intel 945GMA) everything becomes very slow and gnome-shell pulls full load.
If I use "mirror displays" it works fine, but I'd like a secondary work area. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Re: Dual monitor setup leads to 100% load on gnome-shell
Does it work with other desktops (e.g. Mate)? If that's the case, you'd better get rid of Gnome Shell for the moment. I'm sure the dual-head issues we have at present will be fixed in future. If Mate has the same problem, it's your graphics driver.
