Unwanted Autostarting Applications

Postby mclements19 on Sat Feb 02, 2008 8:00 pm

For seemingly no reason, on my linux mint XFCE community edition 4.0, applications that i have not selected in my 'Autostarted Applications' preference are opening as soon as I log in. Specifically, two terminals open up, one on top of the other, in addition to OpenOffice.org word processor (which I have not even otherwise used). Does anyone have any insight into this problem? Is there a way to fix this in the command line?

Thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Look in the folder
/etc/xdg/autostart
There should be an item for each autostarting (system) object

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

For users autostarting applications the folder you want is ~/.config/autostart
