fist question from what type of device you want to capture from?, is it analog or digital?
digital you can use kino
analog you can use motv or xawtv
after that is clear we can work on it :D

Forgot I still had this post...hehe

Well I have a built-in camera on my laptop and I would like a program to capture video with audio on it for recording those very important moments. LOL! I'm not to sure Kino will work for this or will it?

yep I know its cause I've tried it with one of the programs provided by synaptic. I know its a webcam but I would also like to record audio at the same time because there's a mic built in the laptop.
