vnc xstartup for MATE desktop

I'm trying to find an xstartup configuration file that will work with the MATE desktop.
Has anyone managed to do this?

this is what seems to work for me. I see a lot of ref about unset SESSION_MANAGER, but I don't see any difference leaving it or excluding it. I'm using vnc4server and I start it as: vncserver :1 (normal user).
