Cyberphone K ringer on Skype

Hi All
I am trying to enable the ring volume on a Cyberphone K, aka PDT V-652 composite device on Skype.
Is there a configuration file that I can edit to enable or unmute the ringer volume, because it is only ringing on the handset, which is almost inaudible. There is an internal ringer, but it does not work on Linux. Dormouse has a page on the USB protocol for the keypad and non-audio functions of the Cyberphone K, but it's way beyond my comprehension. I have a virgin install of Maya, with the Mate desktop, which is the Bestest in the world and Skype is version 4.0.0.8. Thank you in advance for any snippets of information on this subject. bede_jnr
