Problem with audio and video in browsers!

Post by dban17 »

Hello,
I think I have some problems with audio in my system. Sometimes when I play a song a can't hear anything, i reboot my Toshiba Laptop and the problem is fixed.
But the big thing is when I open videos on youtube and other sites. I can not hear the sound also the colors of the video are in "Sepia"
I've all the drivers installed!

Code: Select all

lspci -v | grep -A7 -i "audio"
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 05)

How did you fix the sound problem?

As for Youtube showing videos in strange colours, do you have the same problems with videos on other websites? Here are a few other websites to try: http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/video-websites

the audio problem was fixed in this way:
1-Menu->Startup Applications
2-Add
3-Put this on command:

Code: Select all

rm -r ~/.pulse && killall pulseaudio
4-Give a whatever u like name!
5- Save & Restart
The video problem I think is on Flash because the problem is for all websites!

Code: Select all

System:    Host: linux-mint Kernel: 3.2.0-23-generic x86_64 (64 bit, gcc: 4.6.3) Desktop: N/A Distro: Linux Mint 13 Maya
Graphics:  Card: NVIDIA Device 0a7a bus-ID: 01:00.0
           X.org: 1.11.3 drivers: nvidia (unloaded: nouveau,vesa,fbdev) tty size: 80x24 Advanced Data: N/A for root
I found a way to solve this problem but also that way is boring.
1-The linux mint comes with mint-flashplugin-11 installed, but when I open a site with java in content the browser says that I ve to update the plugin or "Run this time..."
So I installed flashplayer-plugin and all the videos now are in "Negative" or "Sepia" :/
If i remove the flashplayer-plugin everything is ok except the problem "1-".
So is there anyway to fix the problem "1-"?

Thanks for clearing that up :D You indeed don't want flashplayer-plugin. mint-flashplugin-11 keeps you on a well tested version, and only upgrades to a newer version once problems like this one are solved.

Can you take a screenshot of the error you are getting, and share the link to a webpage where you are getting the error?

I've just found that this problem was for Chromium only! The Firefox is OK.
