Audio Input device directory or file?

Postby Scott65 on Sun Oct 21, 2012 10:07 am

I'm trying to use XVidCap to record streaming videos. Video works fine. Audio no. Under preferences the "Audio Device" setting is set to : /dev/dsp

Can someone tell me if this is the correnct location for the audio input? Or how do I find that location, print out a list of locations whatever. I'd like to be able to record audio from hardware, or by a patch cord from headphones jack to audio in if necessary.

Thanks for any help in advance.
