I'm having a really strange problems with the sound. In the past everything works, but one time I used mute button on my laptop and never returns to sound again. I tried to add /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf these lines:

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=auto
following some solutions found on internet, but still not working. My computer is a HP dv6 laptop.
Not sure if related, but I recently modified grub config file adding "acpi_backlight=vendor" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT to be able to use bright control on the keyboard.
