Hi,
Im sitting on a Asus p8z68-V Pro/gen3 motherboard, but Mint wont recognize my optical output, nothing is listed in the audio settings "output" exept my graphics cards HDMI (HD6990) and the built-in Audio Analog stereo?
Thereś no option for optical output under the "hardware" tag aswell, just same options as above.
Suggestions? Im a newbie when it comes to linux

Hi
Go to the synaptic manager a search for gnome-alsamixer
After installing open gnome-alsamixer then select IEC958 digital output. Make you select your sound card.
