Video running fast

I have Mint 14 Mate. Was going well but videos now running at very fast speeed. This happens wjth Chrome and Firefox.
Any ideas?

I don't have an answer, but I have read a couple topics here (maybe not in this subforum) about faster than normal video playback, so you should be able to find something.
