Thank you for taking a look at my issue
I am followng the instructions to install:
esound-common
libao-common
libao4
pulseaudio-esound-compat
you can find it here : http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_media#linux
I checked synaptics and it seemed that all but libao4 was installed. I installed libao4 and when i restarted the sound icon had disapeared from the task bar at the bottom of my desktop. I tick and untick the sound icon from the panel settings but it doesnt come back. I go to sound settings and its all grayed out. I am able to hear sound from youtube and other sites but I can not hear anything from Firestorm viewer. What should I do?
