Linux Mint 14 Nadia, video streaming

Recently I installed 32-bit Mint 14 Nadia, but video streaming is retarding either in Opera and Firefox. I installed new version of flash player using software manager, however it didn't work. Though in Chrome, youtube clips work pretty well. So, I'm kind of newcomer in Linux and just curious if you have any ideas which can help me.
