xine 1.1.4*

Post by matva »

When i play DVDs in totem-xine, the audio is out of sync.
DMA is on.

I have the same problem in the latest ubuntu. I did a search and found this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=338191

I guess the sync problem is a bug, and it is fixed in xine 1.1.4?

I would like to try 1.1.4 for myself to see if this is true, but i dont want to compile it manually as described in the forum link above. Is there a package available somewhere for 1.4.4 that i'm not seeing? If not, when will one be available? I think totem > mplayer, vlc , etc, but i can't use it if it is going to play out-of-sync.

Thanks.

i dont know of any package for it, but its easy enough to compile. he spells out the instructions, on how to do it, or if you can wait for feisty fawn to be released, its out in just over a month and has xine 1.1.4 already in it.
