Jumpy audio playback using VLC in Elyssa

Postby ab4rl1 on Tue Jun 10, 2008 4:04 pm

Has anyone experienced jumpiness or stuttering playing .MP3 and .FLV files using VLC in Elyssa (using Totem Movie Player works fine). Things were fine in Darnya. BTW, this problem also showed up when I had Ubuntu 8.04 on the same machine while waiting for Elyssa to come out so maybe it's a Hardy Heron problem?

It is probably upstream from Ubuntu and a problem with pulseaudio
alsa is there so use it instead - someone suggested "killall pulseaudio" before you start VLC....

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
