Wasn't sure whether to put this in video or audio but since it all originates from a sound issue I threw it in here.
Okay so I'm getting extremely frustrated and have been trying to get my HDMI audio working for the past week.
I have a IdeaPad with a bad trackpad that I decided to just run through my TV for video/movie purposes only but while video is working, the audio still only comes through the laptop's speakers. HDMI all worked fine before I installed Mint on it.
I assume the grub fix (GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash radeon.audio=1") would work for me however whenever I change it to that and reboot the laptop, I get this on my TV. I've tried every resolution on the laptop and no matter what I do it tells me "Resolution Mismatch" and will not display correctly. If I change it back to "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"" then my HDMI video works with no problem but still sound will only come from the laptop.

I'm getting close to just installing Windows again as much as I really would hate to but at the moment the laptop is pretty much useless to me like this.
