M-Audio Revolution 5.1 crackles/creaks after suspend

Postby rainer.stengele on Thu Jan 02, 2014 11:16 am

Hi. I am running Mint 16 Petra KDE 64 Bit.
I use an M-Audio Revolution 5.1 card.
Aftre starting the system the sound is perfect (stereo).
After suspending and resuming sound crackles terribly.
Restarting alsa did not help (sbin/alsa force-reload).
Is there a way to somehow "reset the card while resuming?

Thank you,
Rainer

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Nobody commenting, seems to be a strange problem.
I tried to just rmmod the soundcard module, but that does not work as it is in use.
Any chance to get that module "snd_ice1724" unloaded and reloaded when resuming?

Thank you, Rainer

Hi all,

problem solved by configuring this entry in /usr/lib/pm-utils/defaults

SUSPEND_MODULES="snd_ice1724"
After "sudo pm-suspend" and resuming I have to restart the audio program, sound then works ok.

Thanks, Rainer
