Color is messed up playing DVDs

Postby eljwholt on Fri Sep 05, 2008 11:58 pm

I am using VLC player and I have it working in Hardy 8.04 but now I am switching to Linux mint and the VLC player isn't working right. I play a DVD and the video runs, the sound is heard but the color is gone except for stripes of color stretching across the screen and that aren't quite right for the picture. What should I do to fix this problem?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Your problem may be caused by compiz. Try turning it off and see if it makes a difference.

Right click on the desktop and choose 'Change Desktop Background'

Click on the Visual Effects tab and choose 'none'
