Mint 16 Mate
old Dell pc
youtube vids and some news vids will not play.
I've tried chrome, firefox, opera.
It has worked fine since the original Mate install in Feb 2014, but something has changed.
been bad about 2 weeks.
Still works fine in XP with Firefox.
Do you think maybe there is a problem with an update from 2 weeks ago ??

Have you installed any drivers yet for your Nvidia card?
Re: another Online Video playback issue !
This presents a real problem for me.
I don't remember what I loaded for a driver or where it came from !
Went to NVidia's site, nothing listed for my card.
Tried the deal where they will discover which driver I need, but it won't work; need Java.
Now I have to install Java....downloaded the tarballs but now what; there's no make or install files!!
I'm lost, going in circles.

Re: another Online Video playback issue !
No need to run in circles.
Go to the configuration/setings menu (at the leftside of Mate menu) and select additional drivers. Which driver do you is activated (see the checkbox at the beginning of the line). If the recommended driver is not installed, please select that driver. Click the active button bottom right side.

Re: another Online Video playback issue !
using Mint 16, video card is GeForce 2, nv15
I don't seem to have the thing you are mentioning.
I can go to 'control center' to 'driver manager', which is empty.
There is also 'package manager' and 'software manager' but nothing about additional drivers.
There are some nVidia drivers under 'package manager' but I don't think the one I need is there.
Java is working now in Firefox. However, nVidia's site did not detect my card.
